I have a 94 Camaro 3.4 engine and want to run it on a test stand. There's a big red wire and a little red wire on the back of the alternator.
The big one goes to the positive battery clamp.
For test stand purposes, where should the little (about 16ga) wire go?
Does it connect to the Sense, Lamp, or Field on the alternator?
Thanks.

The 95 svc manual shows the smaller red wire going to the PCM. May or may not be the same.
But.....for test stand purposes, here's a link to Wes Vann's alternator conversion page.

Thanks Bill.
I don't know anything about a PCM - there was a multiwire connector on the other end of the red wire and I don't know what it went to. Do you think I should run the little red wire to the positive battery post or to the ignition?
I've looked at Wes Vann's page before, but the colors don't match. I could guess that red = brown, since the other two wires mentioned on his page are brown with a stripe, but I'd rather not guess and screw something up.

PCM= Powertrain Control Module which is the computer that runs the engine.
You will HAVE to run the "little red wire" through a bulb then to switched ignition(12V with key in run position) to "step down" the voltage. Probably the easiest thing to come up with would be a sidemarker light socket and bulb from a donor car.
