View Full Version : Marine Battery Holder 67stock Mar 23rd, 01, 01:42 AM Anyone know where I can buy one? And about how much they run? Thanks Chris Davis Mar 23rd, 01, 05:02 AM Are you referring to a plastic battery box to hold a boat battery? If so, they are $5.00 at any Wal-Mart. onemorecamaro Mar 23rd, 01, 05:53 AM The last time I saw a Marine holding a battery he was trying to fiqure out which end of the flashlight to put it in. Seriously though the plastic carriers come in a couple sizes for 24 and 27 series batteries. If your putting it in your trunk make sure you provide some form of ventilation to the atmosphere. John 67stock Mar 23rd, 01, 08:32 AM Sweet! Are these better than the ones say summit sells? I got a battery that tends to leak sometimes but has not acted up too bad since I glued a penny to it and you can imagine what that has done to my front pass side. I was thinking about having a welder make me one then painting it since summit ones etc are about $90. Just a LITTLE overpriced if you ask me! For $90 it better talk to me when it's low and do summersalts. Usually about $5 ea. RickD Mar 23rd, 01, 01:28 PM Or paint the tray with POR15. Or go to one of the Optima type batteries. I got a response from D.U.I on their dry cell battery. I asked for specs like cold cranking amps, capacity, etc. The response was : it's built differently so there aren't specs like that. Low internal resistance so starting is better and 1 year warranty. I want some weight savings and will probably go with Optima for about 7-8 pounds less. |
