I'm in the process of reassembling my '68, I bought the car as a project and got most of the car in boxes. First question is in reguards to wiring the starter, I've got the purple wire that will go to the "s"terminal on the starter, but do I also use the yellow wire??? Second question, I'm using a single wire alternator so of course I'm going to just not use the original external regulator and the loom that plugs into it, if I remember corectly all I need to do to wire this up is use the original Red wire to back of alternator, and run another 10 gauge wire from the same spot on alternator to the positive side of battery, is that correct? Final question has to do with the "juntion " block on the radiator support, can this be bypassed or something, I thought originally it was also wired to the positive post on the battery but I've relocated the battery to the trunk and would rather not run a wire to the front if not required, or can I again tie into the positive cable at the starter. I know I sound dumb with this but electrical is not my strong point so any experience avail. on this site would be greatly appreciated as always, Thanks.

The yellow wire in the starter harness runs up to the ignition coil, it bypasses the resistance wire to the coil during starting.

You don't have to use the terminal infront of the battery butyou do need a wire there. That terminal and the wire attached to it is the main electrical feed to the rest of the car from the battery, and the only way for the alternator to charge the battery. The other end of that wire is on the horn relay, which is where the alternator output wire also ends up. If you have somehow reworked this connection to the relocated battery and refed the horn relay terminal with a connection to the battery then you don't need it, unless of course you have the stock GM ammeter on the console.

Can't help you on the one wire alternator, mine is a stock 3 wire one.

The red wire on the Alt. already goes to the battery in stock configuration. You may want to run a slightly larger guage wire to the battery since you relocated it. I used to work with generators and would see voltage loss with increased wire/cable length.
