View Full Version : Fuel tank wires??

Took of my fuel tank and out comes this real thin wire i cant tell what i connected to or what it does. Its not the wire from the top of the nossle its reall thin i dont want to put the tank back on without replacing it but dont know what it is inorder to replace it.

What year is your car? First gens had 2 wires connected to the sending unit. There's a power wire that runs from the trunk wiring harness down behind the filler neck and license plate and snaps into place on the pickup.

Then there's a ground wire that is connected to the pickup and is bolted/screwed into the rear frame rail.

Yes, the power wire is tan, the ground wire is black. Both are small gauge.
