I am hooking up my new guages, oil, temp and voltage, and the instructions call for a power source that turns on with the key. On my fuse box there are a couple of open slots for what I thougth were accessories. Can I plug into these? Where is good place for gauge power? thanks . I hate wiring :mad:

The spare slots on the fuse box should do the trick- if you have a voltage meter or test light see if there is any current with the key on/ off.

On my 68, I found an extra wire taped up in the harness with an insulated connector on it. I think it may have been for optional A/C. In any event, it might work for you. But I can't recall if that is B+ or ACC power. Probably the fuse block is the next best thing.

I just installed a new Hurst V-matic shifter in my 68. I used the open, bottom, center pin for power to the shift indicator light. It is switched to the key.
