What do you mean you can't get the other wire back in. Are you saying you purchased a new terminal, crimped a wire to it and now can't get it to snap into the firewall connector? Need a little more detail. grf68 Mar 20th, 04, 09:00 AM I did the same thing to my '71 I pulled the engine side of the fuse block and pulled the wire from it,I used a wire from another harness I had that was HEI,the blade was a little wider than the resistor wires blade.using a exacto knife I heated the blade and widened the slot where the wire goes.the wire fit right back in place of the old one and is nice and tight, looks like it belongs there dprice Mar 23rd, 04, 08:05 AM Hi, I'm doing a HEI conversion too, and I measured the voltage from my white-cloth covered resistance wire to the block and I'm getting about 12volts without the motor running. I was expecting around 9-10volts. Do you think it's OK to go ahead and use it? DP dyno jonn Mar 23rd, 04, 02:32 PM Answer, no. Resistor wire will show battery voltage under "no load" conditions, but will drop when operating under load. Use a wire from the fuse box marked IGN . |
