I have a 1969 SS Camaro and need to find out where to get a wiring harness for it. I want all new wiring to the headlights, side markers, tail lights, interior dome, turn signals and dash. I don't have a console in it. It has a B&M shifter in the floor and I'm using a Auto Meter tach. I would like to find a complete system including the fuse box. I mainly want all new wiring to all the lights on the car. Also, I'm not very good at electrical type jobs, so how exspensive do you think it would be to have it done at a Chevrolet dealership? I know it would probably be costly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm located in NC. Thanks!

i don't know where to buy a harness, but i would try resto places like the Padddock and what not. if you get a harness made for that model of car, it should be a simple matter of taking out the old and putting in the new. i would think it would have some instructions with it.might take a weekend to properly route everything and stuff, but really shouldn't be all that hard. once you get into it, it should be easy to figure out.

i have had to put a new fuse block in my camaro with a new wiring harness before. It is a dealer only part and very hard to find. I would try a junk yard or a performance auto parts store where they can order you a new one from GM.

If you're not worried about keeping it all orginal, then when you decide to re-wire, I'd go with the Painless Harness. I just finished re-wiring my 68. All I can say is that it was a lot easier than I had dared to dream. Their Tech support is pretty good too. The best part about it is I now know where every wire goes, what it does, and how to trouble shoot it. I also now have a complete wiring schematic for the entire car. The price was 327.00 out of Summit. It included the fuse box, and even provisions for pwr locks/windows, electric fan/fuel pump, 3rd brake light, etc.
