View Full Version : fuse box problem?????? HELP

Irecently replaced the tail light fuse in my 69 camaro and at that time i noticed the fuse box mounts (2 bolts kittycorner) were busted loose and the box seemed to be dangleing out a bit ??? so i replaced the fuse and went to check the tail lights to find i had lost power to EVERYTHING??? dose anyone know if replacing the box will remmedy this??? I didnt notice any wire had come loose?? Any help would be appreciated???? thanks!!

Let's just put it this way, on the back of that fuse box are some exposed terminals. So if it is flopping around and hits some metal to ground out on.......ZAP!

The fuse block is actually two halves connected to each other with a screw through the middle. Half is inside the car and sticks out throught the firewall and the other is in the engine compartment. If you look at the fuse block from the engine compartment, you'll see a screw head in the middle. Hopefully. It may either be lose or broken or missing. The engine side of the harness might start to work lose from the fuse block side, but they're really stuck together with sealant. Take them apart and inspect the terminals and see if that screw is in working order to hold the two together.
