How do you incorporate pictures into your posts so they show up with your message?

I have the same question. I just created a Word document with pictures and tried to cut and paste into the site but only the text showed up. I know it can be done because I've seem pictures here before.

Yes, it can be done but not in all forums... General is the one I know of for sure... To post a picture it must already be on the web somewhere... What you are doing is calling it up from within the page... You can go here http://www.camaros.net/forum/ubbcode.html for help and to read up on what you can do in a post.

In a nutshell you use the image tags "link to your picture goes here" this is an example of a link to a picture "http://www.camaroslimited.com/graphics/memcars/den1.gif". With the image tags added to it you get this http://www.camaroslimited.com/graphics/memcars/den1.gif

Go back up to my post with the photo or X77D80's and click the little edit button. Look for the line that starts and ends cut and paste it into your post them change the center to reflect the photo you want to display.....

Could it be because I am trying to pull the photos from photopoint? I think I am doing it like the instructions say to. ? Those are the only pics I have on the web except our site. http://www.camaros.net/forum/frown.gif

Well, I am stumpped John! the image link is correct and should display... You might try to play with your PhotoPoint page and see if you can change permissions on the page or maybe this photo... I just signed up with them and have not uploaded anything but saw where you can grant levels of access...

DjD, One of our club members (Ralph Thompson) who also does a little photography on the side caught me running down the track. I didn't know he was even taking pics then shows up with a bunch of them at a recent meeting.

What format are your photos that you have on photopoint? I know you sent me .bmp files and think you might have published them as .bmp's on photopoint which I think might explain why they won't display here..

Name's Jim and I'd posted a "Missing Horepower" topic about 20 days ago. I've since uploaded a pic of my '5 http://www.camaros.net/forum/redface.gif and thought I'd use this forum to test if the pic displays in my sig. Realize it isn't a 'Ro but there are 2 in my family...both sons have 'em. One's a '69 Hugger Orange Z-28 X-33 car and the other is a '68, bone stock, Grotto (sp) Blue convertible, 327, 3 speed w/a white top. Both nice cars! http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif

Hey Clill, I don't think the picture posting is working for some reason, may have something to due with the image itself. Maybe DJD or Al can jump in and figure it out........KZ

The picture file seems to be missing the extension (like .jpg) so the aol server isn't sure what to do with it. (it asks me if I want to run it or save it).

Also, most canonical names (those with a dot.something.com do not work with the www in front. There was also an extra . in the address you typed (right after the .com.)

with the main directory at: http://members.aol.com./clill8567/
However, I can't seem to access the images themselves as they show no extension on them.
