BBDave,
I knew about the SS396 song but it absolutely SUCKS. I don't know what they were thinking when they made it up, I guess Chevrolet had the bucks and wanted it made for promotional purposes or something.

MARTINSR Aug 17th, 00, 04:58 AM I have four complete albums of car songs! There were so many in the mid sixtys you could fill your hard drive! Most were studio bands trying to capitalize on the ones you have mentioned. I would have to go dig out mine but I remember the band name, THE CHECKERED FLAGS was one of them. As a rule every song sounds the same, just different lyrics.

MARTINSR Aug 18th, 00, 04:18 PM Buick Six by Dylan. And believe it or not Hot Rod Lincoln is about a real car! I saw it in a Street Rod magazine a few years ago complete with the song writer who still owns it! He went into some street rod shop to chat and told them about the car, the shop owner found a bunch of guys who agreed to "restore" it for free for the old guy! That is so cool! http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif

kel Sep 16th, 00, 06:59 AM Um....Is the record stuck?
How about the one from Cake that came out about three years ago..?
Goes something like this....
Reluctantly crouched on the starting line
Engines pumping and thumping in time
The green light flashes
The flags go up
Churning and burning they run for the cup
They deftly maneuver and muscle for rank
Fuel burning fast on an empty tank
Reckless and wild they pour through the turns
Their power is potent and secretly spurned
As they run to the finish the flags go down
The fans get up and they get out of town
The arena is empty except for one man
Still driving and trying as fast as he can...
Well that’s kinda how it goes…I probably messed up some words but it is a pretty cool song.

No... just kidding. Anyway, there is also "Silver Thunderbird," but I have to say that my favorite driving song is by far RADAR LOVE by GOLDEN EARRING!!! I know, other people said it, but I had to cast a vote for it as the ultimate driving song.
stenn5 Jun 27th, 01, 05:47 PM I know I'm going to get flak for this one "Trans Am" by Sammy Hagar. At least its a F body the only real problem is when he says custom plate that says I EAT Z28. Just makes me want to challenage his Trans AM.
Oh Well just cause you have money and talent does'nt mean your smart in the common sense dept. Another one just hit me its a rocker but its about a "Bad motor scooter" (Montrose aka Sammy Hagar)
