View Full Version : How do I take the lights out of the headliner?? Mikey007 Apr 9th, 03, 05:42 PM I am replacing my headliner and am wondering how the two rear lights in the roof pillar come off?? I don't want to take a chance and pull too hard and break something. Please help. Mike 68RSZEE Apr 10th, 03, 04:03 AM Mike, you pop the lens out and look for the screws that hold it on on the inside. 69X11SS Apr 10th, 03, 04:23 AM If those are the original lenses, you will in all likelyhood, break them when you remove them. The plastic becomes very brittle over the years with the exposure to the heat of the bulbs. If the plastic is yellowed it is a sure bet that they will be difficult to remove without breaking them. Once the lenses are off, the are two screws that attach the base to the sail panel. After you remove the base, you can remove the wire connections from the bottom. Mikey007 Apr 10th, 03, 07:14 AM Thank-you very much! Before I go and try to take them off what is a good technique?? Mine are yellowed and look to be original. Can I get new ones? Thanx again for the help. Mike 1967 Panther Apr 10th, 03, 07:51 AM Break them and replace them with new ones. They're cheap. Mikey007 Apr 10th, 03, 01:06 PM Well the headliner is out and my lenses are actually in not bad shape. I got them out without breaking them. I thought 67's came with a center interior light also and when I looked at mine I thought someone just didn't like it or it interfered with the rollbar and they didn't put it in. Now I see there is no revisions for a light or wiring going to the middle of the roof. Is everyones like this? Once again thanx for your help guys I appreciate it. Mike Snatchin'gears Apr 13th, 03, 12:59 AM I was looking at old style dome and other light covers at car quest today. Nice and translucent frosted white covers. sudo1a67ss350 Apr 15th, 03, 01:56 PM You have a Deluxe interior. The standard interior came with the center mounted dome light and the Deluxe came with the two mounted on the roof pillars. Scott Mikey007 Apr 15th, 03, 06:24 PM Oh ok. I do have the deluxe interior option. Thanx for the info Scott. Mike |
