Hey guys, I've got a '82 Z28. All the panels from the back seat to the trunk are all hacked up. Originally there was carpeting covering these parts but it's ugly. I was wondering what I can do to refinish these panels. My friend tried sanding and painting with vinyl paint and it looked like garbage. Thanks for any advice.

What did your buddy sand these panels with(what grit sand paper)? Do these panels have a texture to them? If they do and he used a course paper on them and sanded the texture and they look like garbage now, that is probably the best place for them.
If its supposed to be a smooth finish, let us know and somebody will get it straightened out for ya.

Ragtopman, My friend did use a very course grit sandpaper and yeah it was really beat up. On my car it's a little rougher than smooth, but I don't mind if I have to sand it smooth and paint either way it will look better than it does now. Thanks for the replys.
