I have standard 1969 seats in my car now. I would like to change them to the deluxe comfort weave. Is the foam for the deluxe and the cover the only thing I have to change?

If I remember correctly the foam that makes the shape of the pleat is actually sewn that way into the cover.I can't see changing the foam on the "buns" of the seat would change the contour or shape of the pleats. Adding more foam under the entire cover would make the whole seat bulkier and the pleats more defined.

Do a search. About two weeks someone posted the question. You will have to change the seat frames since the deluxe and standard seats are different.

I had my seats which were standard recoverd to comfortweave and bought new foam and they look fine. Whats the difference between the frames? They look great to me. I have everything to finish the car off as deluxe but my friend has a deluxe interior and I always snag my hand on the trim when I rool the window up or down so I put the panels on the back burner untill I decide to go with power windows.

this is the same thing i want to do. i thought only the seat foam needed to be changed not the frames.

Thomas,
All I changed was the seat foam and the covers. It looks just like a friend of mines who has a deluxe interior. The deluxe covers went right on and there are'nt any wrinkles it looks factory to me.
Good luck and go for it,

Are you guys talking about houndstooth?

not houndstooth just deluxe , for example , for my 67 deluxe two front door panel's are $350 BUCK'S with no emblems no trim no door handle cups !!!!!!!
for a 67 std two front door panels are $49 buck's after new emblems and arm rest base's it would be around $90 for the pair ,

my two front door panel's are junk but I don't think I would pay that for them if I had a $1000 buck's in the bank , it's a rip off ,, unless I find a pair of 67 deluxe door panels used in good shape at a swap meet or something for around $50 to $75 buck's I will never have them , I wish my car had been std interior , I will never own another deluxe interior camaro no way ,,,

thanks for the info.
this is what i'm planning, i have dark green interior and what i really want is a dark green/black houndstooth seats covers. the problem no one makes them but i did find a company that has a dark green/black houndstooth pattern. i thought i could buy the material and dark green deluxe and have an interior shop sew in the houndstooth material over the deluxe. if i could find some good used dark green seat covers that would very helpful to start with.

thanks,
thomas...

Anything worth restoring is still going to set you back a couple hundred. Why? Because the reproductions have an ABS plastic backing while the originals are cardboard. Purists prefer keeping it original. I recently restified a set of 67 gold deluxe panels to black by dyeing the vinyl and replacing the carpet. They turned out awesome and cost me less than $50 in materials.

FWIW, I have two 67 Camaros, both with deluxe interior. At first I felt the same way because of prices, but now I'd never give up my deluxe interior. Maybe its just personal taste, however I think the deluxe looks far more classy than the std. interior.

jeff I like the look of the deluxe 100 to 1 better also but I am in a fix with mine , to make a long story short $350 buck's for new door panels to me is about like $5000 to the average person , it is just short of impossible for me , where as I could go on a crash diet and not eat for 6 or 7 day's and come up with $49 buck's for the std one's , I know I should not even have a camaro because I don't have any money , sitting here right now trying to figure out how to get gas for work this week ????? it is people like me that are most hurt with these monster price's on some of this stuff , but none the less I love 67 68 69 camaro's just as much as anyone !!! even though I know I should just sell my 67 walk away and never look back ,
