Maybe a spray on "Dry Cleaner". Depending on how old it is, it may want to come apart or rip if you use a brush on it...

Greg, you might try a cleaner called Simple Green. I have used it alot and it's a great cleaning agent. It will cut through any gunk that's accumulated on the headliner and leave it very clean. I know Maguires makes a good vinyl cleaner that I have used and supposedly it is a "protectorant" also. Like the post above, I suggest being very careful cleaning as old headliners tend to split very easily along the seams. Clean gently!!

be carefull though, those threads are old. one hard scrub and there they go ripping.

might want to soak some WD40 on a rag to "soften" them up. then use the degreasing cleaner of simplegreen to get it clean.

either that or just go easy... headliners are a head"ache" to replace.
