: Rosewood Dash for Deluxe interior
toycarlvr@aol.com May 22nd, 02, 11:43 AM I'm in the process of restoring my 69 z10 replica "clone" http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif and need to replace the Rosewood Dash trim (includes the glove-box and ashtray). I've tried Rick's, NPD and Classic and nobody is currently stocking it. Does anyone know where I can locate a good repro or orginal?

TOMSTV May 22nd, 02, 03:40 PM Maybe if your handy, you could take the one you have now, and try putting some woodgrain type contact paper over it. I looked in the "2002 Ground UP" book, and they don't list any.

Unreal May 22nd, 02, 07:47 PM Watch ebay. They come up every week or so. Probably 250 for all three pieces.
stingr69 May 23rd, 02, 04:35 AM Just a random observation but $250.00 is just crazy. I have it on my car now only because I did not know it could be removed many years ago. I even painted over it with black wrinkle finish at one time. I am guessing some people must have removed theirs at one time or another and trashed it and now want it back. Even years ago people would pay a lot for it so this is not a recent development.
Time changes many things and I have since carefully removed the paint for restorations sake. $250.00 just seems like a bunch of money for some fake wood grain. No offense is intended.
You pays your money, you takes your pick http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif

kz1000ltd May 23rd, 02, 05:41 AM 250 for all 3 pieces is very reasonable, I just sold a complete set on Ebay, "buy it now", for 350, and the person who bought it was very happy to have it. Nobody is making a reproduction of it, so they are very hard pieces to find, in good condition. I have another very nice set sitting in my garage, waiting for my car to get back from the body shop, and if somebody offered me 500 bucks for it right now, I wouldn't sell it. Supply and demand folks, supply and demand. Keep an eye out on ebay, I think I saw another set out there yesterday that started out at 295.00..........KZ
kz1000ltd May 23rd, 02, 05:44 AM Here it is...........

Jonesy May 23rd, 02, 07:38 AM I agree with KZ. $295 is about the going rate for the wood grain pieces.
toycarlvr@aol.com May 23rd, 02, 11:40 AM Man... YOU GUYS ARE GREAT! I just bought the one on Ebay with the Buy It Now feature. For $300... it's A LOT of cash for wood grain... but what am I suppose to do? This panel is missing from my Z10 Clone so there's a couple of 3/8" holes in the dash where this panel mounts on. One note though... it also includes the Glovebox Door and Ashtray Door... so it's not just woodgrain contact paper.
After speaking to all the repro suppliers... they tell me that the original run of repos on these pieces which sold for $159 looked like poop and many had quailty issues. I understand the OEM is looking for new quality supplier... but one Original in good shape is worth two Repros in the bush http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
Thanks again!

yogi May 23rd, 02, 05:51 PM I paid 200.00 last year on e-bay for a pretty nice set. I used buy it now and bought it the first day of the auction. I noticed now, they are starting the bids at 200.00. Im glad I got mine! They seem unreasonably high, but like someone said, supply and demand. Now I need to find some seat belts, they are going through the roof too!!
toycarlvr@aol.com May 23rd, 02, 06:11 PM Yogi... at $300 it "SEEMS" high... but then with some bumpers sell for almost $2,000 and AM / FM radios that sell for big bucks... and the a wood plate for the console sells for $100... Man... are we in love or just foolish http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
I have to tell you that I wish I could have bought mine last year for $200... but right now I'm just glad I found one http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
yogi May 23rd, 02, 06:22 PM One thing for sure, when you get the car together, and take it out on that cruise, you dont seem to care how much those parts costs anymore!!!
Devor May 23rd, 02, 09:25 PM I agree with Yogi it is your car and imperfections suck.

kz1000ltd May 24th, 02, 04:41 AM Better buy them up soon, before too long, they'll be double or triple what they're going for now. It wasn't long ago I saw a set listed here in the classified for 800 bucks. Just remember, they're worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for them.
mr69 May 24th, 02, 01:39 PM Toycarl:
Just be careful putting it in. If you tighten up on the stud too much, you will have dimples in the woodgrain.....i had a friend find out the hard way....

toycarlvr@aol.com May 24th, 02, 04:09 PM mr69... thanks for the advice. I also found out when I installed my repo wiper rosewood panel... dimples were the studs are http://www.camaros.net/forum/frown.gif Anyway... they were only $16.50. I'm going to be real carefully dash . Thanks again for the advice!
Johnny B. Feb 18th, 06, 03:11 PM Ive got the original rosewood dash parts outta my 69. i have everything but the radio area cover- dash surround glove box door ash tray & head light switch area. looking for $800.00 or best offer
KevinW Feb 18th, 06, 04:03 PM Johnny, you gotta check the date of the posts in the upper right hand corner. This thread is 4 years old. I think he may have found a set by now :D
lchb7 Feb 18th, 06, 05:27 PM I wish someone had one for $300 If they do please contact me havent scene anything on Ebay for less than $500 for starting bid! lchb7@hotmail.com
kz1000ltd Feb 18th, 06, 05:32 PM This thread just drives home how high prices have gone on some of these parts. I was pretty happy to get 350 for a set back in 02' when this thread first started, now that would be giving it away! I sold a set for 800 about 6 months ago, and that's about the going rate now! Still no reproductions on the market either, so that's why the prices are where they're at now. Can't believe it would be so hard to replicate these pieces either, it's not a friggin' mechanical contraption like the RS wiper solenoids, why can't anybody make a decent repro??????
clwilcox33 Feb 18th, 06, 05:37 PM Kinda makes you want to buy up every single original part you can find eh?
angelglo Feb 18th, 06, 06:04 PM i too sold a set for $200.00 a few years ago. the kid that bought it was happy as a camper. as far as doing repros for them, i suspect the quality of the wood grain would be just as bad as the repros that they have for the steering wheel shrouds

kz1000ltd Feb 18th, 06, 07:30 PM Here's what they're going for now, good if your selling, sucks if your buying!!!!

KevinW Feb 19th, 06, 05:58 AM Glad I have mine tucked away in storage. I think I paid $50-100 for a whole deluxe interior back in the early 80s, all rosewood parts, door panels, seats, AM/FM mono, PW, everything I could unbolt before the car went to the crusher for rust in the rear and crunch in the front. :D
