I'm doing the interior of my '67 and i'd like to fix a rip in the backseat. It's the size of a dime in the shape of a "V". The leather is in good condition so i'd like to keep it for a little while longer.
I think i can glue it so that it will hold but i'd like to blend the edges of the rip to hide em.
As anybody been there?
Is there some sort of fabric putty that works good?

I burned a small hole in the seat the other day, and filled it with some hot glue. It's holding up pretty well, although the hole did not burn all the way through.just my two cents. http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif

I suggest taking it to a good upholstry shop (ask around or look in the phone book for one that caters to collector cars) and let them have look at it. These guys have a process to permanently repair small tears like this. The tear will still be slightly noticable, but you will really have to look and it's way cheaper than buying/installing new upholstry. To repair a 1 inch tear in my leather seat was about $50 and you may be able to do better.
