I recently bought a '68 with the center dash cut out to fit a modern DIN deck where the original radio used to be. Does anyone have any ideas on how to repair this area to fit the original radio again?

That's a tough area to repair depending on how much damage there is. I have a 68 Firebird 400 that had that area damaged beyond recognition and I replaced the whole front panel from a donor car. I took my time drilling out the welds on both cars dash panels and then welded in the replacement. Took about 2 weeks all in all spending a couple of hours each night. Looks great now.
