Has anyone replaced the heater control "switch box" on their 69? If so, how difficult is this to do?

Thanks!

The only thing i did was open up the ducks with the cables, then removed the old bracket, and made a flat plate to cover it,and install a switch to run the fan for heat & defrost. to replace the the part is a pain in the a$$. http://www.camaros.net/forum/eek.gif

Thanks for the info.

Do you kow if it's possible to replace one of the "control rods" in the unit? My left-most control rod is broken. The other two are fine.

Yes you can replace the lever. I don't think anyone repos them, but what I did was found a broken heater control at a junk yard out of a Nova (same as Camaro) and pieced together 1 good one. You can buy new lens from any of the Camaro supplier. I also cut a new black background out of thin, black vinyl (the paper crap that comes with the lens is cheap and will fade quickly). Let me know if you need more info and I'll try to help. It's been awhile, but I have restored several of these and they turned out great.
