Any one had promblems with the repo seat foam for a 67 with deluxe interior? The upholistery shop called today & said that the seat covers wouldn't fit that the new foam was too thick by about 2".

From past posts I have read here the Deluxe seat foam is a couple inches taller then the standard. Do a search on Standard to Deluxe Interior Conversion.

No problems here. It takes just a small amount of work to get the covers on the seat buns, other wise the covers would fit loose and everytime that you would move, the covers will move also.

It really helps to lay them in the hot sun for an hour or two. Mine were tight also but look good once they were on.

I haven't tried it yet, but a guy that does seats often puts a plastic garbage bag over the foam and then slides the covers over the bag, using the plastic as a slippery type cover. He says this is a common practice and you don't hear or feel the bag underneath. It's also a good water barrier. My concern would be if moisture did get in the seat, could you ever get it out again! Just a thought.

This I don't understand, slide a garbage bag over the foam so a the seat covers are easier to install? How is this possible on a deluxe interior when the seat cover is attached in the center thru the foam?
