Where should the rear edge of the console be in relation to where the seatbelts bolt to the tunnel? Mine is about 4" forward of the seatbelt bolts. I just installed my gauges and it seems that they are really tucked under the dash.
thanks for the info

yup, tucked under the dash. that's why they had a low fuel warning light, cuz it's hard to see the fuel gauge.
if you had the original nuts in the tunnel to bolt the console too you probably have it in the right place.

My 2 front gauges are definetly uner the dash. RamJam's don't look that far under the dash.
Can you guys measure the distance from the rear edge of the console to the seat belt bolts and giver me that measurement?
Thanks

Take a look at the tunnel pic. Second picture down. It'll give you the dimensions of where the shifter sits and the forward console mount..

I just came back from a car show and looked at some 69's with gauges. The manual cars had the front gauges tucked under the dash like mine are.
But I saw 2 auto cars that did not have them so far forward.
to change the subject:
RamJam,
What hurst shift lever are you running? It looks a little straighter than mine

The rear edge of my (untouched original) '69 console is exactly 4" forward of the centerline of the seat belt bolt head.

Thanks JohnZ,
I would have to think mine to is an untouched orginal, except it originally had a 3spd.
Thanks
