What kind of fabric is glued on the two striker plates located on the top inside of each of the doors? Two plastic "buttons" on the bottom of the window rub on these plates just as the window reaches the top. The fabric is probably designed to reduce rattling, but mine is worn through after years of use.

Just bought a set of these. Rick's calls them front window anti-rattle fuzzies. It comes with some rubber coated by the fuzzy fabric material with adhesive. Price was $7.50. Don't know if that is the best price around, but most resto catalogs probably have them.

Bud, I should have been more descriptive. I think you're describing the adjustable plates attached with one bolt. It has a thin fuzzy bumper attached to it.


The plate I mean is inside the door on the other side of the window and attached with 2 phillips head screws (under the outer window fuzzy). The material looks like corduroy and is about 3" X 2". I'm looking for a durable non-abrasive fabric. I'm thinking a thick nylon.

I know what you are talking about, Dan. I always thought it was some type of burlap or cotton weave.

I’d probably just use a piece of velcro, the soft side.....
