There are a couple of different ways to remove the seat... What I do is move the front seats forward. Put my feet on the floor facing the rear window. Kneel down and push in-and-up on the seat bottom. It will pop loose. Once it does, do the other side and remove from the car. Good luck. Then, you can get to the two bolts holding the seat back in place.

The 1/4" rod that makes up the seat frame locks in to two brackets welded to the floor under the seat. Do as John suggests. Push back to get the frame out of the bracket and up to clear the bracket. One bracket on each side of the floor. On mine it wasn't easy. I think it took about 5 or 6 four letter words to persuade it out.

I finaly got the rear seat out after 20 mins of swearing and sweating. The left side came rightout with only a few trys, but the right side was pain in the a**. Its funny what kind of stuff you find under a seat that has never been removed. I found the build sheet, or whats left of it, the seat belts which the owner never knew existed and even an old smog slip from 1981.
