Is there a "trick" to diminish the noise made by the shifter slider in my 68 4 speed? I'm almost done with the instalation of a repro console in my 68 and the noise, as I shift, is kinda annoying. Are originals the same or just the repro ones? Also, does the round rubber seal that goes under the slider needs to make contact with it (the slider plate) or just hangs on top of the boot?
