I was interested to know how many of us have served in the armed forces?? This being an election year and our presence in Iraq....I know any time you ask a question like this there is somebody who hates America who will say...I went to Canada to avoid the draft...but there are also many brave men and women who insure our freedoms....Thanks!

Never drafted, never served. I and others watched the Canadian border while the rest of you served. Can't turn your backs on those sneaky Canadians. We made your towns safe to return too.

Just kidding. My deepest thanks to each and everyone of you for doing something I did not do in a foriegn country. I just stayed home and worked as a cop for 28 years. In 24 days, it will be 29 years.

USAF 1988-present. Started out as a Jet Engine Mechanic on 135's and A-10's. Became a c-130 flight engineer 10 years ago, love every minute of it except for living in a tent.

Englemac, I fear your pain (been living there 10 out of the past 13 months with no end in sight).... If only AEF's worked as good as they look on paper. Wish we had that option in Special Ops. I hope I don't have to go back in another month or so. Hang in there.

I am retired Air Force. 22 year of service August of 1980 to September 2002. Seen the world, got the T-shirt to prove it. Favorite place, Philippines! By the way, I have been looking for a Yutivo Camaro and found one. It's a 67 RS low compression 6 cylinder 3 speed, no air, power steering, decor group, more to follow.

Ahhh, memories of trips down Magsaysay on my way to the Barrio graemlins/beers.gif . I was stationed in Yokusuka Japan and San Diego. Made 3 West Pacs in 4 years, been to the PI 14 times total, including a week without the fleet when I flew back to get out in '89. As fun as it was though, Thailand is better. Unless you have been to both, it would be hard to believe, but it really is :D

While stationed in Korea, we always wanted to grab a hop to Thailand but it never happened. Everyone said it was the place to go while in the Pacific.

Wow, How did I miss this post..

82-88 U.S. Army (all in beloved Germany with the exception of boot camp and A.I.T). Boot Camp was spent in Fort Jackson South Carolina, Charlie Company 3rd Platoon 9th Battalion, 2nd Bragade.

No actual combat time, but we did have quite an "experience" with the european community when Mr. Reagan decided to embarass the entire country by travelling to Bittsburg and attended a reunion of the origional German SS graemlins/sad.gif (but thats another story)
