I spent several hours today re-wrapping my wire harnesses with hockey stick, black cloth tape, as suggested in a post here recently. I bought it at a local sports store. It looks great, is flexible and really cleans up the routing and tightens up the smaller runs so they are not hanging up on dash parts.
Just wanted to pass this hint along.

Some parts of the harnesses left the factory with the cloth tape, and others left with vinyl tape (like electrical tape without the sticky)

Slowly Paul. I put first coat of POR in trunk last night. Tonight is underside of trunk pan. Then POR putty is next to fill the holes. Then another coat of Gray POR over the whole inside of trunk area. Then new splatter paint.
As soon as underside is done tho, I have to install the gas tank and drive it to paint prison for vinyl top and paint trim and tail end, rear panel, front grille, all the dover white. phew.
Once its back from paint shop, then remainder of interior to finish. Its ground down now, shiny metal floor pans, I will POR them too, then FAT MAT then new carpet. Im about done with electric cleaning up too. Seems to be coming to a head now. The POR had to wait so I can open a door when using it. They forcast more snow here tonight, then warming for weekend.
Im taking pics as I go, but have not yet downloaded them. I will soon.
Have fun driving right now, Im jealous. Wave on your way past. graemlins/waving.gif graemlins/waving.gif graemlins/waving.gif graemlins/waving.gif

How does the POR15 stick to ground metal? I always sandblast before I apply the POR15. I've never tried to wire wheel or grind then apply....Just wondering if it still sticks as well.

I used their Marine clean first, then Metal Ready etcher, then the POR. The trunk stuff I did last night is dry now and sure looks great. I have not yet done the floor pans but Im expecting them to turn out great. My reading tells me to wash off the Metal Ready after it soaks for 15 to 30 minuntes. Then the POR should grab tightly.
I will keep documenting as I go along with digitals.

Paulm, I had no adhesion problems w/ the POR 15 when I did my trunk. I used a wire wheel on it first to clean it up, then used the Marine Clean and then the Metal Ready. Was worried that the surface would be too smooth but it stuck.

Thanks! I am getting ready to paint the inside of the frame rails on my 35 and I have done a bunch of grinding on it after I sand blasted it. I was just curious if it would stick to the smoother ground surfaces.
