Hi. I have a 1978 Z28 with really baked on window tint. The door windows were tinted lightly (1 layer) and I managed to get it off both the windows. But the back window was heavily tinted (2 layers) I managed to get the first layer off but the second layer is seriously stuck on. With a razor blade or scraper it comes off in chunks about half the size of a grain of rice. Are there any chemicals I can use? It's horrible. I have a rear window defrost fan so there is no worries. I need help to get this crust off my window. Thanks so much.

Try spraying it down with WD-40, then hit it with the razor. Do a small area at a time,(1 sruare foot), and with a little patience and elbow grease, it will come off. Thw WD-40 will also remove the tint glue. Good luck.

You may also try spraying the tint with soapy water, then take a single layer of a large black plastic trash bag, soak it with the same soapy water, and lay it over the tint. The water will make it stick. Don't squeegy the water out, it will soak through the tint and release the glue. Put the car in the sun to help speed the process. It usually takes 30-45 minutes for the glue to release.

I tried the heat gun. It didn't work. The tint has become hardened. It's like porcelin
