I am trying like gangbusters to find a pair of 1st generation bucket seats for my 68. It seems like every nice set I see on E-bay is a different color other than black, which is what I'm looking for. They always say "They can be dyed to your desired color". This strikes me as odd. How dependable are those dyes that you can put on interior vinyl? What are some good name brands?

Oh and by the way....anyone wanna sell a set of black bucket seats for a 1st gen? Just thought I'd ask.

Thanks

Vinyl dyes work well, but for seats, you can purchase new skins and seat backs from a number of parts houses such as yearone, ricks firstgeneration, paddock, etc. Maybe new seatskins is the way to go...You will be much happier. Bye the way, those parts houses are online and also should have vinyl dye. Do a search on this site for directions for application. Hope this helps...Mike

Buy new skins the correct color. Don't dye the seats it will wear off in short order.
