Why did the 69's two types of head rests? Offered were the straight shaft and the curved shaft.

Any Ideas?

Gary, straight shafts were early, curved were later. The change over might be around Dec 68-69, but I'm just guessing. The curved ones put the headrest in a better position for your head, IMHO. Maybe GM did a study, then changed it.

My head rests are missing on my '69 built the third week of January. Anybody know which headrests would be correct for this car ? Thanks.

I always thought Curved were first, to be replaced by the straight bar....?
