Last weekend I finally installed my custom leather seat upholstry.

The front and rear seats are now Blue and Silver (To match the exterior of the car) as well as custom, digitized embroidered "Z28" in Blue w/ silver outlining, and "25th Anniversary" in red on the front seats.

Took over 20 hours (Sat & Sun) for me to remove the seats from the car, remove the old upholstery (factory light grey "p"leather), install the new custom leather upholstery, hog ring, cut out holes for screws, bolts, headrest, etc, and take lots of pictures along the way.

I am doing a complete review on the seats which is why all the pics were necessary and why it took so long. After much aching hands, fingers, back, cuts.. finally got them installed and into the car.

Here are some pics of them in the car. Note: These are not the best quality. They were taken during sundown and I've yet to have been able to take good pics when it's sunny (always raining on the weekend).

The blue on the seats might look shiny but that is because of the flash on the camera reflecting. Just letting you know since people are accusing me of painting for the seats, or they are too glossy.. ;)

Personally I am very happy with the results. Definately looking forward to going to the next bunch of car shows next year. :)

Wow! Real nice!
Doesn't look "painted" or too shiny to me.

do you still have the old seat covers? are you looking to get rid of them? and how did you take the headrests off? i have a 91, and can't figure that out.

Do you mean to remove the headrests themselves or the upholstery from the headrests?

If you mean how to remove the headrests, I too could not figure out how to remove them as there is no apparent switch or anyting to push to to remove them. Not until I got the video for the leather seat kit did I learn how to remove them.

Obtain a thin, flexable but one that is not too easy to bend) piece of flat metal about an inch wide. Lift the headrest to the full height. You then slip it down the front of the slit where the headrest goes into. While pushing the metal strip down, push the headrest down a bit while pushing the metal strip down. The strip will move down a bit, at this point your metal strip is now covering the latch that is in the seat. Lift the headrest up and it should pop right out.

Great stuff Camarosource. How did you mount the rear seats? I am not really familar with 92's, do they come with a rear bench or buckets?

the rear seats are kinda both. the top is a bench, some are split. and the bottoms are buckets.
