On my 68 the dash lights are pretty dim. Bad enough where it makes it hard to see. I have all new bulbs installed but still dim. Is this normal? I am geting ready to upgrade my alternator from the current stock one but wondering if I will also need to purchase a flashlight for night driving. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

My dash lights are not as bright as a new car but I can see them pretty well in the dark. Maybe you have a bad switch. Do they get brighter at all when you turn the headlight switch? Erik

Erik beat me to the headlight switch!! You might try making sure you got the correct bulbs and that the ground is solid..

They do not get brighter as I turn the switch. They do get dimmer however http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif. I have it at max brightness and still pretty dim. I will check the grounds around the switch.

I disassembled the hole gauge cluster on mine just to clean it. The green area used to reflect the light was way too dusty. As they said, check your grounds and use #194 bulbs. Good luck...

Well, it seems to have been the alternator. I did the CS upgrade as described on this site and not only does the car run better but the dash lights are brighter. Cool! No more flashlights!
