Guy's I've got a 67 convert with deluxe interior. The seats do not have foam in them, they only have springs and burlap. Is this normal and can I change it to have foam. Would there be any benefit to doing his.

Are you sure about that ? The repro foam is not bad. If the covers are still good you can replace the foam only. I have had my upholstery guy use both the repro foam and also make new foam for seats. I think that the foam he makes fills the covers better. RobR Dec 2nd, 02, 06:07 PM Are you talking the front buckets or the rear? The front do, it is several inches thick. I don't know if the rear seat does though, mine are out in the shed. ------------------ Rob Rice robr54@hotmail.com http://home.attbi.com/~racrrob 69X11SS Dec 3rd, 02, 07:41 AM The front buckets have foam, burlap, springs and the vinyl covers. The 67 bench seat, and rear seats are cotton padding, burlap, springs and the vinyl covers. When I redid the rear seat in the 69, I cleaned and painted the springs, replaced the burlap and cotton padding, added a 1 inch foam pad and then recovered the the seat. The repro seat foams work well as well as the PUI replacement upolstery. Good Luck ------------------ 69 SS, 350, 4 Speed 75 400, 4 Speed 93 Z28, 6 Speed |
