hey, i have a 1969 camaro, and the gauges are obvously green, i have a sony x-plod head unit, so i was wondering if there was any way i can change the color of the gauges to red to match the head unit? thanks

simply change the bulbs to red

pull the front bezels off and remove the green tinted plastic and install a red plastic it,s that simple

I did exactly that with my 69 in high school and the red guages looked awesome and got a lot of comments!

i changed that, is the green still noticable at night, or the you wont even know it was green once you turn on the lights, because, the gauge its self is green

In daylight the lettering should appear white, then at night with the lights on it will appear whatever color you put there. When I did mine, I cut out a piece of clear plastic the same size as the green one and painted it red with model paint. A light coat will be fine.

A good elec supply house sould have some of that red plastic stuff its called plastic mask its used to do the same thing in elec trade (change lighting effects)

Rob, I am currently working on my '69 dash and I agree with freestyle - the numbers and markings on the gauges have a definite green tint to them. You can't change the color during the day, but like the others said, you can change the look at night by changing the color of the plastic film in front of the bulbs.
