Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has installed a seat belt system in a 67 Camaro that included some type of shoulder harness? I have a standard interior with the low back bucket seats. I don't have a roll cage, nor do I plan on installing one. I want to keep the interior looking as close to stock as possible, but having a safety harness system with shoulder restraints would be nice.

Thanks,
Vic

Vic,

Awhile ago, one of the car mags did a conversion to modern seatbelts. Unfortunately, I can't remember which mag it was.

I'm sorry I can't be more exact. Maybe this will jar someone else's memory. You could also search Car Craft, CHP, and Super Chevy websites.

The article was in Camaro Performers magazine. I don't remember the name of the company that sells the 3-point harness conversion, but I will look through my back issues and see if I can find it.

There is a place in Orange, CA: Pony Car Concepts and Restoration that sells a set up for $269. I am considering putting shoulder harness belts in my car; $269 souunds a bit expensive, I seem to recall someone on this site mentioning that they were able get a shoulder system for $50 or so. The number for the PCC&R is 714-639-4457 805 W. Collins Ave Orange, Ca.

The anchor bolt holes are in the ceiling structure of all 67 coupes. Feel around the headliner and you should find the bolt boss. You can get any first gen F-Body coupe shoulder belts and add them to your 67. It won't be technically correct as 67's placed the buckle on the roof and the tongue next to the console, and 68/69's are opposite this, but they will work fine.

Has anyone tried installing belts from say a 78 Camaro. I need belts in mine also ('69) and would like the one piece belts system.
