Tell me if I have this correct:
'68 doors (standard interior) have the lock knob an inch or so from the end of the door.
'69 doors (standard interior) have the lock knob about 8 inches more forward on the door.
Thanks!

ALL 68 door locks are towards the rear of the door.
ALL 69 door locks are about 6" up from the back edge.
deluxe or standard doesn't matter.

Well, if I can't get them swapped, I may repair the original knob hole with a vinyl repair kit and move it to where it's supposed to be. We'll see. I really won't be hurting anything.
Unless someone wants to swap a '68 PUI pair (manufactured 1989, plastic top caps) for a '69 pair?

i have the same problem. nice set of 68 deluxe panels for my 69.
thought i'd plug the holes with something instead of patching them over. maybe something with a SS or 69 logo, maybe my initials.
in the electrical dept. there are chrome plugs for plugging unused holes in your home electrical panel. several sizes, not sure if any are exact fits but it's a starting point. take them to a trophy engraver and have your initials, SS or whatever engraved in them. maybe a smiley face smile.gif

Man, I like the way you think.
Ingenuity at it's finest.
Maybe I'll put a real knob in the hole and confuse the hell out of people. ;)

you think that's slick. wait till i post how i cured Stainless Steel Brakes rear disc e-brake problem. :D
i thought about a second functioning knob too. maybe have one go up while the other goes down. confuse the hell out of the backseat people.
