is it "wise" to buy parts like interior door panels, dash, console, dash KNOBS and all that from a dealer like Classic or NPD? better place??

All of the aftermarket suppliers handle a lot of the same brands. Classic Industries, NPD, D&R Classics, Rick's First Generation, Ground Up, etc... PUI is one of the best door panel and upholstery reproducers. I don't have any experience with Distinctive Industries but a few members have said they are good. I usually shop around for my parts unless I want to make a large order then I go with the one that will give me the biggest discount. I have faxed the same parts list to several retailers and requested quotes and availability. The lowest bidder gets my money.
