i was thinking about painting my black console to match the color of my interior. my question is, do the pockets for the seat belt holders get painted? what about the inside of the rear ashtray.

The seat belt holders DO NOT get painted. they remain natural color. the insides of where the seat belt holders are gets painted. The area around the rear ashtry and directly around the edge of the compartment opening get painted flat black.

what about the console lid? im assuming the underside of the compartment opening is black, right? and when you mention directly around the compartment opening, is that the whole inside part of the compartment opening? the smooth and untextured part? i know the felt is black. thanks again

I thought the underside of the console lid was flocked? (flocking?) Everyone I have talked to says they were but the one I have appears to be original but un-flocked. Oh well!
