The wife and I just bought another Camaro. We added a 1997 RS Convertible 30th anniversary edition to our collection. It has a white top and a grey leather interior. What would be recommended for cleaning the top and cleaning and protecting the leather seats from the sun. This car is not a daily driver and will be kept in a climatized garage, but when we do go on trips we want to keep the leather seats nice.

I have never owned a convertible, so I can't comment on what's best for the top, but as far as the seats, I have always used Murphy's Oil Soap. I just dilute it about 50-50 and put it in a spray bottle. It works great, and keeps the leather nice and soft. The best part is that it's easy...no creams or anything like that. I just spray the seats down and wipe them about once a week. My seats still look new. Be careful with some of the leather products out there. Some of them will actually shine the leather like shoe polish. That's great for your wingtips, but not for the seats on your Camaro!
Hope this helps...
(BTW, this is on the seats in my truck and Explorer)

Hello,
I own a leather tannery and deal with automotive whole hide upholstery hides. I can tell you to be careful on what you use. Although most products do a good job out there and automotive finishes are very tough. There are some cleaners out there that will break down the finish properties and weaken or dry out the leather. Best cleaner by far that I have ever used believe it or not is baby wipes WITH ALOE. Safe and gentle enough to use for a babys butt, more than safe enough for your leather interior. Cleans great and conditions at the same time. Just be sure to use the ones with ALOE. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
