I want to mount 6x9's in my back panel of my '68 but need to know the best way to remove the panel. Any help would be apreciated. The back seat is original and I'm not sure but think it has to be pulled forward to get the panel off.

PS. I'm a car stereo idiot, but did get the original AM/FM AC Delco to work. Original dash mounted speakers working too.

The bottom of the seat comes out by pushing towards the rear of the car--on the lowest part of the seat.Push back and pull up.You might have to push back kinda hard. The back of the seat is held by 2 screws,7/16 (11 mm)for you in metric land. There are also 2 tabs that will need to be bent back. The screws and tabs are on the lower part of the seat back. The package tray panel will then lift out.

The rear seat bottom can be tough to get loose. I use my knee to apply pressure toward the rear of the car. Much easier that way than trying to use an arm.

Good Luck!
