How hard are the seat foams and covers to replace? It doesn't seem to look to difficult. I guess you just need to buy the hog ring pliars. Is this a weekend type job or something that is very time consuming? I would only be doing front and rear seats and foam (front) and I figured why the seats were out I should do the carpet. I need to do headliner also but have been told it is pretty difficult to get right. So I may have to wait on that one. Also the seats are Houndstooth if that makes any difference.
I noticed in the Ricks catalog that for 69 you need to specify if your seat backs have the molded wire in the foam or not. I checked mine and they do have wire in the foam. I guess I dont understand what the difference would be besides the wire of course. Is the seat back any different???? ( Just out of curosity)
Thanks!

you should be able to get it done in a day.

I am farming out the seat re-covering job for my 69 as I have seen too many lumpy seats out there.
As for the headliner, I did my own and posted a few tips a while back. Do a search or send me a PM. It is not bad at all IMHO. I would not hesitate to do it again.

Just a suggestion..........
I would recommend doing it on a warm sunny day outside. It will soften the vinyl and make it a WHOLE lot easier. I did mine in the basement on a cold day and my hands and fingers were sore for a week from all the stretching and pulling.
Aside from that, it's not too bad.
BTW, buy good hog ring pliers. My cheap ones broke and I had to repair them. Good ones should run around 10-15 bucks.
All 69 seat backs are the same.
Let us know how it goes.

Jump in. How ya going to learn how to do this stuff anyway. The seats will tell you how to put the covers on when you take them apart. Where the hog rings are and why the listing wires are in there. Do one at a time so you have a referance to look at.
Headliners aren't to bad, done a few now. If you screw any of this up bring them to the man and give him your money...............like you were going to do in the first place. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Rick's catalog says the molded in seat back springs was rare. My seats came from two different cars, and both the were molded in type.
Lots of others were molded in too. Was that type really rare?
