I am not sure if it will make any difference or not...but if you are only slightly off that may solve the problem. You might also consider very careful modification of the clip attachment points on the panel (e.g. lengthen/ widen the slot with a razor knife). Where did you get your panels? Are you sure the panels are correct for your car? Might be a slightly different attachment pattern if the panels are really for a '67 instead of a '68. I would think that '68-'69 panels might interchange. Hope this helps! ------------------ See my '68 RS/ZZ4 at http://www.100megsfree.com/choptop/camaro.html [This message has been edited by choptop (edited 05-12-2001).] Gary Dorion May 12th, 01, 08:49 AM I had a similar problem with my 69. I had to play around with different positions to get them all to fit properly. It can be done, but it may take some playing around. LOL 67LT1 May 12th, 01, 11:42 AM You are not alone. I've seen brand new door panels from three different sources in the last 5 months. On everyone of them, including mine, the clips attachment points on the panels did not let the clips be mounted anywhere close to fitting the holes in the doors. Just take an X-Acto knife, cand carefully elongate the opening in the rear of the new panel, and you'll be able to get your clips to all line up nicely. David Gary Dorion May 12th, 01, 06:09 PM Don't forget to trim off 1/8 to 1/4" off the front of the panel. Otherwise it will hit the kick panel and bulge alittle. This is a common problem on all replacement panels. http://www.camaros.net/forum/frown.gif |
