Hello all,

I'm going to be redoing my interior soon, any thoughts as to who is the better supplier? Ricks or D&R. The folks at Ricks have given wrong info on a number of occasions. But I've ordered from D&R and they didn't ship all my product (small turn signal cancelling springs, trivial, but hey I paid for them)

Thanks

Ricks has better quality parts than D&R in my opinion, depending on what you buy. Classic Industries is also very good as well. I've never had any problems with them.

I have used Ricks and Classic Industries with no problems at all. What I like beat with Classic is I get the free shipping and that makes a difference.

I had problems with every order placed with Rick's and won't go back. But I'm not into vendor bashing so maybe its just me. Classic has some strange return policies that you don't find out about until you have a issue. Never had a problem with D&R and really like NPD

surferx - Ground Up (516-248-4567) sponsors this great web site and you might give them a try. I started using them in 1999 for almost everything on my '67 and have been very pleased with the parts I have recieved and their service. Ask for Sean or Ken. I can tell you from comparing catalogues that the prices are lower than Classic and if you order over $250, shipping is FREE. Order over $500 and get a 5% discount and over $900 gets a 10% discount. Most of the parts houses will carry the same line of upholstry. I have read from a number of people on this site to make sure and get upholstry from PUI. Ground UP and others sell this and it's supposed to be the best.

I'm in process with replacing my seat covers, seat foam, and carpet. I ordered from Rick's. Everything was delivered to me in a week. All products are good quality.

At different times for different reasons, I've had some type of problem with all of them. Nothing to put me where I won't deal with anyone again but sometimes I do ask questions like: who is the mfg and IS IT IN STOCK.

I just can't say enough about Firewheel Classics out of Texas. The are very friendly and go out of there way to please me. NPD on the other hand is another story. To make a long story short, I didn't receive a part that I ordered over the phone. When I called, "Jack" says sorry, you didnt order that part and I won't ship it to you unless you pay additional freight. I didn't ask for the part for free, just a real salesman. It was probably an isolated incident, but there are so many suppliers out there, find one and stick with them. They will most likely treat you right everytime because they want your return business. Good Luck.......

I really like Year One too, I found them to be a little more expensive then the mid-range dealers, but quality is about the best around.
