I've got a 69 that was factory deluxe comfortweave interior. When I bought the car the previous owners had put standard upholstered front and rear seats in the car. The deluxe door panels are still there in front and back. Question is did all of the deluxe interior cars have the arm rests on the back quarter trim panels? I've been told that if I got the interior kit that the rear seat upholstery wouldn't fit because apparently the rear seat frame on these cars were shorter to clear the arm rests. Is this correct or was I told wrong?

they told you right the deluxe would have the short seat, if you want standard covers you need to buy one for a conv.it has the short back seat also.i ran into the same problem as they gave me a cover for a standard interior with the long seat. i now have a extra back seat cover, white if anyone can use it, let me know.

The only way to have a short back seat in a 69 is it would be a fold down. Then it would have the arm reats. The only diference in a standard and deluxe back seat is the material.Just order deluxe material for a non-folding rear seat.

I have gotten quite a bit of information on this issue. It is true only the conv. and hardtops with the fold down rear seat used the shorter rear seat and arm rest. The largest problem you lucked out and did not have to worry about is the shorter front door window cranks (being a deluxe car you already have the longer ones).
Anyways I have had suppliers swear to me that all deluxe coups have the shorter rear seat, but that is not true. I have been told it is hard to find a deluxe rear seat in the larger (correct) sixe thou. Good luck.
P.S. Due to me personally totally messing up and buying a 68 firebird rear seat, I am going to put it in my 69 camaro (the shorter seat) with the arm rests. I hope it will look good (non fold down).

Last year at a swap meet I bought a 68 deluxe rear seat for $10 because I have the rear side panels with arm rests that I wanted to add so I was hoping the seat was narrow. Its a 68 Deluxe rear seat that is the normal width and original. Not all deluxe seats are narrow

Unless it has a fold-down rear seat, NO 69 camaro coupes came with rear armrests.

The seat back on the fold down has cut out for the latch, so you will need the seat cover for the convertible rear seat not the fold down. http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif
