Forgive me if this has been answered recently. In a search I found many references to dash pads, but nothing that specifically mentions exactly how pad is removed. Are there any tricks for someone who has never attempted it? Also, I see where some believe it is better to re-cover existing pad. Comments???? Thanks!

There are screws on the left and right side (must open doors to see) and screws below the pad near the instruments, you must also remove your glovebox or try to work above the glovebox because there are long machine nuts that must be removed in that area, as well as above the ash tray. With all that out, you can slide the dash pad forward.
I recommend getting a new OER Pad, Classic Industries has them and is offering 20% off right now. My OER pad is just as good if not better than the original I removed, quality is top notch!

Yup, there are four bolts that come down out of the pad that have little nuts that are accessible under the dash. Once those (and the front screws) are out, just lift the back of the pad up and pull out.. There are then two studs that stick out at the bottom of the pad's legs... these fit into press-fittings in the dash and just need to get tugged on to get them out.
I recently re-covered my own pad with some vinyl I bought at a craft store... stock fit, looks almost as good as factory, and only cost about $15 total.

If you have any problems with your dash removal, just send me an email & I'll hel p you out.
I've had my dash pad out at least 5 times in the past 12 months. I can do it with my eyes closed. (can't see up there anyway). graemlins/clonk.gif
