Anyone know where you can get a bulb for the rear console lamp for a 67?
In my car, the bulb was missing and the wires were cut under the console. The car has been in the family since 1968 and I don't remember this light ever working.
Was surprised that Rick's doesn't carry the bulb. It is about 2" long and the contacts are on the end. The bulb fits in a U shaped clip on each side.

Try the roof dome light bulb. They may be the same.
What about the local parts house? Seems it should be pretty common.

Carl,
Good call. I'm pretty sure that one would work. The dome light clips look the same as the ones in the console. Thanks.

I just started to restore my console and it had the original bulb inside. The numbers on the bulb are 212-1, whic I believe is still a valid part number for Sylvania or GE or any other bulb mfg. The style of the bulb itself I believe has changed. On the original, the glass area is almost 2x larger in dia. than the brass ends. My lens was melted in the place where the bulb actually touched the plastic. If the new style is narrower, it's a plus. Hope this helps.

Walmart. That's where I found my newer style type bulb.

Thanks for the inputs. I'm going to go ahead and hook it up and see how it works. One concern I have is that the light may have been disconnected because of heat problems.
jlgarcia.....I just refurbed my console over the weekend. I used some interior red I got from Classic on the sides and some semi-gloss black from Eastwood on the top. Left the chrome alone replaced the rear lamp lens. And I've got to say....it looks damn good.

I went to NAPA and the guy knew right what I needed. The new style has a thinner bulb. What he said agrees with the post above, the old fat bulb was to close to the plastic cover and melted it. That may be why someone disconnected yours.
