Hello everyone! First I'm sorry this is such a long post, but here goes. Had my car all finished and ready for the show season, well with nobody's fault but my own, I dropped a can off of a shelf onto the back filler panel and trunk lid, and of course put a big dent in both!
So, I deceided to get a new trunk instead of fixing the old one (it was an aftermarket anyway). Got the trunk all ready for paint and was only going to paint the back filler panel and blend in the paint. It's less than a year old. Anyway, as I'm sanding the rest of the panels I drop the DA on the roof (Any of you that are close can come by and kick me!) So now I'm fixing the roof also. Not a big place, very easy to fix. But now the question, since I've basically sanded the entire back half of the car down, I put on a coat of DuPont DTM primer/sealer. This I plan on sanding down and laying down another coat of DuPont URO primer-filler and sanding this to ensure flat panels. Will I be ok doing this over the existing Clear coat? I sanded it down very good with 400, then 800 prior to sealing. I do have plenty of blender agent, but I'm hoping and praying the panels will match. I'm using DuPont ChromaBase basecoat and Dupont clear. I'm not going to run into "lifting" problems down the road am I?
Any and all advise and criticism is welcome!
Thanks in advance and have a great 4th Holiday! Jeff Parker
