I keep hearing about a fold down rear seat for first gen Camaros. Were these the seats that came with the deluxe interior package? I need one for a 67 and was wondering how much they are worth. Also, how much would a standard black back seat in perfect condition be worth? Please help.

Guys I really need your help on this one. Tomorrow I'm going to go look at a fold down rear seat and the guy is asking $300 for it, complete with brackets. Is that too much?

Hey shadow, $300 doesn't sound too high. Sounds in the ballpark for being in good shape with all the brackets and all. They came with standard OR deluxe interiors. While I'm no authority on this, I did hear that there are 2 different sizes. The deluxe being narrower because it needs to clear the back panels when it's folded down. Remember that deluxe door panels and rear side panels are molded and stick out more than standard. I don't know what the exact measurement difference is between the 2 shadow. The back of the fold-down part, (top), should be carpeted also. I hope this helps shadow, and remember, and I know you've heard this before, it's worth what you're willing to pay, how bad you want one, ect. If I really wanted one, and this was a clean deal, I would probably pay the $300. I did buy one for a $100, BUT, it needs to be redone, and didn't come with ALL the hardware. Add that up. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif Probably more than $300 when it's all said and done.
Good Luck dude. http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif

Stevo after thinking about it I think I'm gonna wait a while before I buy a rear seat. Right now my interior is totally bare. So far I've painted my dash, doors and kick panels black. I also bought a good set of deluxe door panels for $100 and a carpet kit from Classic Industries. I still need a headliner, a shifter and a pair of buckets so i think I'll buy that stuff first. Thanks for the info on the seat.

Shadow, I have a '68 I'm soon going to be putting Recaros into so I'll have a pair of black buckets going spare. When I get the new seats in I could let you know if you're interested.
The buckets are in pretty good shape - a couple of splits here and there but I have new, unused Classic industries covers to replace the old ones that'll be sold along with the old buckets.

Phil,

As your older " and sometimes wiser " brother I would suggest one of two things. First, save the $300.00 for something else and get the front seat situation settled. You can't drive from the back. Second, unless you are set on having all original stuff, look into having the ones from the 70 redone, couldn't hurt.
