I currently have leather 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse seats in my '69, but I want the stock look. Does anyone know of a place that will rebuild stock seats to like new condition ? I believe my original seats need new springs and foam.

you can buy new buns, new springs and new seat covers, from any resto house for about $300-350. Add another $100-125 for local installation, and you have "new" seats.

When I did mine, I took the time to wire brush and paint the frames, so they will never rust again.

I did the same thing in the 69 as UNREAL did. I did the front and rear upolstery myself. I replaced the broken springs. sanded, cleaned and painted the frames. Cleaned and lubed the tracks, replaced the padding and burlap, put on new buns and covers. I suggest placing the seats on a blanket when you start stretching the vinyl so you don't scratch or gouge it while your working on it. If you take your time, you can get them to look like a professional did them. At car shows I always get asked who did the interior and I can proudly say that I did. I changed the interior from Black to Ivory so I had to replace everything. It turned out pretty sweet. Good Luck

There are two types of foam for the front seats. Rick's catalog describes the difference. I ordered the wrong foam the first time. The guy that did my upholstry work put a plastic garbage bag over the foam, installed the vinyl, then pulled the garbage out. It makes it a lot easier to install. Jack

small block is right the seat back foam comes in two varieties for 69. One with the springs molded into the foam, and one with just foam. If you pull the plastic panel off your seats, you can see whether you have separate foam and back springs, or whether the springs are integral. If they are integral, you will still see a little bit of the squigley spring.

I believe you can go from two piece to one piece, or visa versa, as the frames are the same. Although I have never seen a replacement set of back springs. I guess what I am saying is that if you have back springs that are in questionable condition, you can replace them with the molded in variety. Both styles use the same seat covers.
