I just purchased a 60gal, 3hp Ingersoll-Rand compressor from Home Depot. I didn't realize the compressor was not wired. The instructions do not show how to wire the compressor motor. Anyone done this before? I'm assuming the wiring is done under the front plate at the black/white/green terminals, but I want to be sure.

I have a standard 220v, 30amp breaker outlet that I'll be using for the compressor power supply.

Are you sure that is a 220VAC motor? Could it be a 120VAC? I have a 6HP / 60 gal. from HD and it was marked 220VAC only.

Mark, I figured it out. It's a 230VAC motor. I located the connection points at the switch and not on the motor. Duh. Thanks anyway.
