Hey Guys,

Any reason I can't use a gr 8 flanged hex head bolts to mount my rear seat belts? The bolts don't have a shoulder and I really can't see any reason to need a low profile head because there is no trim that mounts on it and the seat cushion wil cover it and not interfere with the ht of a hex bolt.

Some moron thought the seat belt bolts would be a good place to weld exhaust hangers to so I had to grind the bolt up to remove it and got to get the belts back in for this weekend to mount my kids seats.

I need your input

Use a washer to go with the bolt as OE seat belts used a shouldered bolt to make up the diameter difference between the threads and seat belt buckle.

You should be fine with your set-up. If not using a shouldered bolt, then you may want to thread the bolt into the pad on the floor, then follow up with a nut on the opposite side to double nut it.

IA cool.

That's waht I'm saying is the bolts on mine don't have a shoulder so I can't see having the low profile head.
