I have a set of fiero seats that I'm going to put in my 67SS. They're definitely going to be black. What material do you guys think will look good on these seats

Depends on the look you want, or what you use your car for - you could be the only guy out there with velour seats - that should be a hint.

Black seats in California? What color is yer car? I wouldn't do vinyl or leather in that heat. If I lived out there I'd do cloth or velour.
My $.02

How about crushed velvet?

Yeah, crushed velvet would be cool, http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif . Alot of people are using quality vinyls now, it's actually softer then most leather but it cost a fraction of the price. My parents own an upholstery shop and they use a brand called Luxor. They've been putting that in alot of cars lately. Velour is way outdated, tweed is history too.

The car is going to be a dark green and the interior is already all black. I think I'm going to go with a cloth so I don't sweat all over the place when I drive it during the summer. Thanks for the help guys.

Hey, just kidding on the crushed velvet comment. My daily driver is black with a black leather interior. It gets way too hot if I have to park it outside. Definitely stay away from vinyl or leather. My Camaro had a white vinyl interior and even though the seats didn't get as hot during the summer, they made you sweat. If you can find a good cusom shop, leather back and sides with cloth inserts looks good. I'm thinking of something along the lines of the 69 houdstooth covers - not necessarily the houndstooth cloth, but the overall design.

Black seats are never a problem Dude - when you come from the beach you just lay your wet beach-towel over the seat and you're good to go!
We like to sweat alittle on the way home so it looks like we worked hard.
Now wait 'till you've got a Black on Black on Black Ragtop with no A/C and the temp hits 114 while you're stuck in traffic - then you're living!

Vintage 68, Me stuck in traffic? I don't think so. Look at my signature and you'll see what I mean.

I'm going to get the front and back seats redone with new foam and cloth for only $450. I can't wait to bolt everything in because when I mocked up the seats they looked sweet.

If you like vinyl and cloth but can't decide, you can always have cloth/vinyl combination made. I'm sure it a lot more expensive but it's another option.

Then you'll have racing stripes on your back. Sweat from the vinyl, dry from the cloth. I like that idea. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

Phil - Oh - Honest Officer, I didn't see your signature on in earlier posts!
No - that was me and the 'Ex'(just one of the reasons) stuck on the 91 our way back from the Drag-Boat races in Riverside on a sunny summer afternoon in Aug. What a special day that was - broken boat, record heat and a "very Fussy" wife! I sold the car shortly after and never owned a Black car (or Boat!) again since. Nowadays they would call it 'tramatized' - back then we called it Pi$$ed!
The cloth sounds like a good choice if your not looking for resto and want something more comfortable.

Phil, Just get anything that feels better than your patrol car http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif Honestly I would go with cloth. http://www.camaros.net/forum/cool.gif
